Interview with Storyteller Masako Nozawa

First off, could you introduce yourself?

Hello, everyone.
I am Masako Nozawa, playing the role of the "Storyteller" in Majogami.

What was it like playing the Storyteller?

So the game Majogami is something like
a mysterious book? Or paper play?
Well, the setting is like a play, and as the Storyteller
I'm the one reading out the story.
It was a lot of fun!
I did my best to make it fun as well for those playing the game
and experiencing the strange and slightly scary world.
I really hope everyone gives it a try.
Please play it!

Now that recording is finished, could you give us some thoughts?

As it's a brand new game and setting,
I wanted to give a new and fresh voice as well.
I felt like as Storyteller, I'm the one watching over everyone, including the Witches who are all very interesting girls. I really enjoyed taking on that role for the performance.

What did you think when you first saw "Majogami"?

As someone who has been in a lot of games,
my first thought was that it was very beautiful.
The protagonist, Shiroha, is very cool,
and as she fights, she leaves behind this Japanese paper
effect while flying around; it's very colorful.
I don't play many games myself,
but this time I thought it looked very fun.
I thought I might even give it a try myself,
but I'm not sure I'd be able to do it.

And Shiroha's dad is very funny.
Her dad is just this slip of paper. (Laughs)
He's always calling her name and cheering her on
from right inside her chest, it's great fun.
I think everyone will enjoy him.
The way their conversations change over time is must-see...
No, must-hear, I think.

If you could use magic like the witches in Majogami, what kind would it be?

Oh, I'm already like a witch myself! (Laughs)
If it were magic from Majogami though,
I'd love some magic that let me be anywhere or teleport for sure.
I could get to work instantly,
meet fans from across the world whenever I wanted.
It would definitely be fun.
It would even be useful going shopping.
I love shopping, you know.

Lastly, do you have a message for fans?

The Japanese paper world in the game is beautiful,
and you get to fly around with style as Shiroha, so
I think fans will really enjoy such an attractive game.

All the characters are also very appealing and cute,
and I think fans will enjoy the slightly dark story
as well. Please give it a try, and I'm sure you'll like it.

Finally, the story takes a turn that even surprised me...
Fufufufu...

Everyone out there, please give INTI CREATES's new
game, "Majogami", a try for yourself!
